During the 16th an 17th centuries the copper ware manufacturing Dinanderie in French, was one of the major craftsman activities in AURILLAC area. Although the objects were at first made for domestic use (cauldrons, cooking pots and pans), their renowned robustness and durability allowed the coppersmiths of AURILLAC to sell their production all over Europe.

The Dinanderie d'Auvergne founded in 1886 is to this day the last workshop, heir of this long lived tradition. The range of centuries old holloware is, through the Atelier d'Art or Art Workshop, enriched with new decorative item, created from copper and pewter in constant respect of the ancestral tradition of handeraft (hammering and embossing).
